The Alpenrose Schuhplattler Gruppe was established in 1980 for the purpose of continuing and upholding a tradition that dates back hundreds of years.

In 1984, the group applied for and was accepted into the GAUVERBAND NORD-AMERICA, the international Schuhplattler Gruppe of North America.  This group consists of approximately 65 dance groups from the United States and Canada.
